Nurse educators from select African countries can develop their leadership capabilities through this J&J Foundation funded fellowship with AHPEL.

The AHPEL Nurse Educator Leadership Fellowship is sponsored by the Johnson and Johnson Foundation in partnership with the Foundation for Professional Development.

Fellows are selected through a review process organised by the executive committee of the Association for Health Professions Education and Leadership.

The fellowship includes:

• Full funding for accommodation, meals, and programme costs.
• Face-to-Face sessions x2 in 2023 and 2024
• Online webinars and sessions for the duration of the fellowship
• Facilitation in the fields of HPE Leadership, Learning and Teaching, Research and Community Engagement

Fellows are required to:

• Pay for their travel to and from residential sessions in Cape Town, South Africa
• Have reliable access to the internet for online sessions
• Commit to the full 18 months of the fellowship
• Attend all synchronous and asynchronous sessions
• Conduct a quality improvement project within their institution

Before submitting your application, ensure that you have:

• Identified challenge regarding nursing education in your institution.
• Considered ways in which you could overcome this challenge.
• Received signed and date stamped letter of commitment from you line manager to support your application and attendance for the residential sessions.
